An over reaction is normal and to be expected. I have never been enamoured by SQ ground support or management, such a contrast to the on board experience, but I think its clear this terrible experience was in no way their fault, and the way in which they have handled it is tough to fault,
I have taken two SQ flights in the last week, I sensed a lot more caution but nothing dramatic.
In this case I say hats off, you have gone beyond what you were obliged to do.
