First timer here. Sitting at QR's DOH Business lounge, trying to sum up the past few days and weeks. A mix of "sale", IRROPs, and unexpected Passport Stamp(s) led me here, where mileage run, deals, loyalty programmes, maximisers meet.

A bit about myself. I'm at 1.5M lifetime miles with AA/OW, and 0.5M with UA. These are all achieved via BIS over the past decade - late to the credit card spend and/or cabin accelerators. Not usually involved in hardcore "Mileage Runs", defined as spending < 24h at the destination before the return. While not in the travel industry, I have always been curious about the insider news and knowledge. Over the years, I have taken pride in accumulating some level of expertise when it comes to IRROPs. "(OW) Cabin Integrity Policy", "Protection/Double Booking", "Interline Agreement", etc. These came in handy with KQ - if anyone has heard of "MFS", I would like to dedicate a new term of MFK to Kenya Airways and the lovely people under its system.

How the trip started

Thanks to a post by cruser1 , I jumped on the KQ sale. Had two PNRs. One was cancelled by the airline due to a misunderstanding of the fare. The other one was intact; I have never received any updated since ticketing. That led me to believe that my reservation was valid, and I was good to go.

The tickets were purchased via Amex Travel, due to availability of the inventory and some level of assurance/convenience in case of "ticket disruption".
