Changing name on reservation at check-in
hi all - I'm heading to london in a few weeks with my wife, who will be on a work trip. I had booked a room from my account, as I'm a diamond and she's a gold, and assumed we could just have her pay for the stay with her corp card. She was just told by her travel manager that to be compliant with their travel policy, the hotel receipt has to be in her name. Prices have gone up since I booked, and I'd ideally keep the current reservation/pricing. Can we just ask the property to change the reservation over to her name/account when we check-in (understanding that we'll then only be eligible for her gold benefits), or is that something that I need to try to ask them to do in advance (or isn't possible at all)? I've never tried to change the name on a booking, so have no clue if it is a simple matter or creates complexities in the reservations system. Thanks!
