Yeah, I saw that, but I'm assuming it applies to those holding a Schengen-not-Swiss residency permit. My logic is thus: with a Swiss residency permit one can fly into Switzerland and never leave ever again. There are no "never expire" UK passports.
well, with due respect, you acknowledge your reasoning is based on assumption here - and your assumption may be correct of course. but can you imagine standing on the other side of the check in desk where you have some random person telling you timatic is wrong and showing you print out from website you haven't got a clue about? in the back of your mind you know if you get this wrong and someone is refused entry, that is a large fine to BA which will be laid at your door.
do you think you would say yes it is ok based on that, or do you think you will follow the rules as shown on your screen and provided by the source your airline deems to be authoritative?
i know it is not what you want to hear, but i think any sensible advice here is going to be to renew your passport as advised.
