I appreciate it is a fairly complex area (if even Timatic can’t get it right…) but the ignorance of so many gate staff is often just tiring.

Travelling LHR-EU I have to explain almost every single time that I am indeed allowed to travel on an EU national identity card. And don’t get me started on trying to fly EU-LHR on an ID card+proof of settled status.
