I believe it doesn't apply to any Schengen resident, as I see no relevancy to 3 months considering I can fly here and spend the rest of my life here without ever leaving. It's really the 10 year bit I'm interested in, which isn't shown in Timatic (but BA obviously know about) as my passport is valid for 10 years 6 months.
I know I can just renew it early, but it shouldn't be necessary.
