Yes, I see the same on the United site:
Document Validity:
Passports and other documents accepted for entry must be valid for a minimum of 3 months beyond the period of intended stay.
Where abouts did you see something saying otherwise - i.e. that the 3 month validity doesn't apply to CH residents?
