Detailed review of my stay in May 2024

Were you (or for multi-stayers are you generally) happy with the hotel/stay?
Yes, great stay

Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
Booked cheapest rate and was upgraded to a Signature Suite.

How are the rooms?
Very nicely designed.

Around 65 sqm large.

Living room with seating area. Open bar. Desk.
Dining area

Bedroom with very comfortable bed.

Bathroom with walk-in shower
19-69 Rainbow Bar toiletries.

Minibar
Nespresso machine/kettle.
Closet with bathrobe.
Vintage record player

Flatscreen television with large choice of national cable channels. Chromecast

View over Oxford Street.

Usb sockets next to the bed. Radio alarm clock
No free PressReader, but Financial Times and New York Times offered at reception
Very quiet.

What was good and what was bad?
Good:

The hotel has real character: the architecture and design are magnificent, and the restaurant is a popular venue with a lively atmosphere.
Very nice design, blend of historic and contemporary (and love the fact that hotels has so many plants everywhere).
Good breakfast (notably hot plates) and excellent Refuge restaurant.
Very friendly staff.
Central location, with easy access by train to the airport (Oxford Station is opposite the hotel).
Free bicycle
Social password gift was two drinks and a snack offered at lobby minishop

Bad:
Nothing

Value for $ or IHG One Rewards Points? Would you return?
Yes, definitely.
