We and the GA's do not have 'aligned interests'. We want fast orderly boarding with the pecking order managed and preserved to a "T". The GA's want to get everyone on the flight onto the Jet Bridge as fast as possible so they can run their paperwork and move onto the next thing, or as likely, nothing at all. This does not seem to be an area of priority to AC so as much as we all like to complain about it I don't see it changing anytime soon. In fairness, they are hamstrung in many places by the infrastructure they are forced to deal with (YYZ - D39/40; D24) where there just isn't enough space for the hordes of humanity they are jamming on aircraft that must be must larger than what was planned for when the Terminal was designed.

And of course at D39/40 the patio doesn't help, nor do the shops in other locations. But patios and shops pay rent generating revenue for the airport authority which seems to be their primary objective, not providing a great passenger experience. And why would they, what are you going to do, fly out of Toronto's other International Airport??
