Did the same as I do before heading out on a trip to the Ziva Cap Cana (which we've been to four times so far), go to the bank and get a about $80/day in ones, fives and tens, ones for drinks, fives for snacks/small meals and other miscellaneous stuff, and tens for big meals. I'm really not sure it was necessary here, and as I said, even from servers we saw every day it didn't improve service over time.
We flew ORD-DOH-MLE on Qatar in business class, I had been keeping an eye on it and we got 2 adults + 2 kids (11 and under is a little cheaper) for $13,240 in R-class (not the no lounge access P-class) through AMEX International Airline Program. We spent two days in Qatar on the way back just to see a little of the City.
Nice! I'll be sure to save that link for the candles.
We will be doing DFW-DOH-MLE in J as well (points!) Going down to DFW from STL the day before. The last time I had a big trip (3 weeks in Europe) I missed out departure flight out of IAH because our same day flight from STL was cancelled. Never again.
Still trying to figure out our meal plan strategy as I don't have the free breakfast status.
Thanks again for all the tips!
