I stayed at MAR and Ren properties throught DC in the month of December.

The REN on 9th street offered free breakfest during the closing of the lounge.
I said that I get the breakfest anyway, what about the snacks, the small bottles of evian that I drink. The nice lady at the desk went to the back and when she returned said they would put water in my room. At this point I did not bother to push the breakfest or snack issue.


I then decided to try the MAR on 22nd street. WOW what a deal.
Free breakfest, free parking ($20.00 night) at a holiday rate of $129.00 a night. It gets better.
I am told the lounge is closed at that I am welcome to have complementary soft drinks and order an appetizer off the bar menu each evening. I go with the chilled grilled shrimp and a diet coke with lime.

I like both of these properties, the MAR wins for excellent customer service.
