If it's not a trap then it's just careless incompetence on Hilton's part. Either way it still looks bad...

As above, used livechat, didn't get far. Can't be bothered calling the hotel to be honest as it should never have to come to that.

Have you stayed in this hotel? If so how would you compare the two? I just priced up my multiple-room stay for several nights and the total cost for the Holiday Inn and Doubletree is almost identical (<1% difference).

P.S. Interestingly booking.com (which I only checked for their breakfast ratings) has the Doubletree listed with options for a "very good breakfast" whereas the Holiday Inn shows "fabulous breakfast," so the latter seems to be getting more recognition.
Yes I've stayed at both, but the Holiday Inn stay was five years ago. I recall liking my room at the HI more than the room at the Doubletree. The Doubletree has a much larger bar and restaurant. I would be very surprised if the HI had a significantly better breakfast given the size of the restaurant there, regardless of the ....ratings on booking.com you seem to be focused on.

If the breakfast is so important to you, enough that you'd make multiple posts on here about it, it seems odd that you "can't be bothered" to reach out to the hotel. No one on here is going to be able to give you definitive information about the specific rate you are looking at, and it would be very unusual for corporate of any chain to be able to provide you with any more information than that which is available to you on your computer screen.

I can assure you that the way rates are loaded onto hotel chains websites are not general signs of a hotels carelessness and not being able to get "the simplest things right."
