The vast majority of UK Doubletrees don't charge kids for breakfast anyway, at least for kids appearing to be around ~12yo or less.
My kids are older than that and I just feel uncomfortable booking with a hotel that can't get the simplest of things right and just causes confusion...

I used the livechat feature on their website and was told that breakfast would be included for all persons booked, but when I quoted the line from the "fine print" I was told that in this case kids' breakfast will not be included.

If it's not a trap then it's just careless incompetence on Hilton's part. Either way it still looks bad...

As above, used livechat, didn't get far. Can't be bothered calling the hotel to be honest as it should never have to come to that.

Have you stayed in this hotel? If so how would you compare the two? I just priced up my multiple-room stay for several nights and the total cost for the Holiday Inn and Doubletree is almost identical (<1% difference).

P.S. Interestingly booking.com (which I only checked for their breakfast ratings) has the Doubletree listed with options for a "very good breakfast" whereas the Holiday Inn shows "fabulous breakfast," so the latter seems to be getting more recognition.
