I had WiFi for the whole flight on Barbados-Miami…I thought it was a glitch or something, as I didn’t pay and don’t have t-mobile or anything. I also didn’t select any “free” option, as the only free WiFi options were Apple music and something else. The WiFi seemed to just be “open”

Now I’m currently on MEX-DFW and same thing, WiFi seems to be free completely. Oddly enough, there are options to pay for the 1 hour or full flight pass…but I didn’t do any and soon after WiFi was free. I noticed because I started getting notifications on my phone. Yes, I’m in airplane mode.

Is AA maybe now giving free WiFi a to status passengers or something?
