Same here. Just flown back from the US overnight in First. No sign to me that the 787-10 was in any way dirty. Service was excellent. Food and wine I had were good. Most importantly the seat was extremely comfortable so I could get a decent amount of sleep. Outbound was also just as good on 77W.
the 787-10 seat would be at most 2-3 years old? Maybe even brand spanking new. The one on the 787-9 in the review did look past its best … and a few bits that a few replacement parts could easily fix.
Seems some of the criticism is fair like rhe meal looks meh and the headphones are shabby and some is nit picking, the tea tasted nice but the brand was too common or the headrest cover was bent.
However, brands and image does matter at the top end and I think that’s where BA has lost its way.
