Frankly, an official passport (vice a diplomatic passport) is more trouble than it's worth - not only due you have to worry about getting visas for most countries, but in many instances, you will attract unwanted attention to yourself by foreign security apparati (sp?), both at the port-of-entry and while in-country. Depending on the nature of your work, you will probably be better off staying "incognito" with a blue passport.
