I try to stay out of threads like this but you make an interesting socioeconomic point so you’ve pulled me in. I’ve often thought the same - the reason BA gets away with filthy / falling apart cabins in First and Club World is because there’s that British reverse snobbery that cleanliness is somehow a lower middle class value to be sneered at as opposed to driving around in a battered Land Rover with a muddy lab in the back. Hence American / East Asian etc. passengers find the state of BA’s cabins baffling whilst many regular British passengers don’t seem to notice. That’s the only way I can rationalise it.
A muddy lab at the back of the F cabin would certainly make my flight a lot more enjoyable!
