Doesn't have to be AA metal. AA codeshare on someone else's metal will count and satisfy the requirement.

I agree. I actively like the long haul J hard product. I typically take my own food, as I find AA's often inedible. Cabin crew occasionally can be good, but are just as often surly. I happily fly AA J TPAC ex-NRT when I'm flying TPAC. IMO the hard product is much better than JL's.
