You can't bypass MCT on a PNR by paying for two fares. It's still an illegal "connection".
Thanks. I understand that it's still illegal, I just take it as a sign of the system understanding that the connection is not possible

As for not flying anything to VIE - I understand that my stance is rather unusual and perhaps not very rational but I have a little bit of negative feelings towards the Lufthansa Group (to put it mildly) and avoid it whenever possible The routing via LHR was chosen specifically because there was an option to continue on BA (I consider CE to be the only European J product worth anything) - if that's not reasonably possible due to scheduling reasons, I'll rather fly via other hubs which are far easier to connect at than LHR.
