I am sorry to bother but I am new to the upgrading to Aer Lingus using points and have a couple of questions and want to make sure I am doing this correctly.

First is to purchase an economy seat on Aer Lingus paying cash?

I was told through Aer Lingus that they would not tell me if any business class tickets were available but I needed to have the Avios points in my account which is 37,000 each way. Then I could submit and see if I am approved. If not I would then have 74,000 points that would now for the most part be useless.

This is for a November booking and as of today all seats are open in Business for both ways. Would that mean more than likely I would be approved?
