Its probably a bit of a Niche property but my issue is not the property more the behaviour of the Diamond Desk, it is the Holiday Inn Haydock, M6 J23.

Either there is a mechanism for forcing a reservation in a hotel that is sold out or there is not.

The answer seems to be there is not, all I get from the Diamond desk is that the property is sold out, well no s*** sherlock, if it wasn't I would not need the guarantee in the first place. If I cannot use the guarantee when the property is sold out, it isn't much of a guarantee is it and this is a month ahead of the reservation.
