The original booking was done online and the EXST was booked later by phone with an agent. The PNRs should be linked. Flight is non stop domestic. Linking for DL is nothing more than a note. It does nothing to ensure for example get rebooked on same flight. I've booked numerous extra seats with agents. It should be one PNR. If you decide after fact to book extraseat, a new PNR with both should be done. Agent will cancel current PNR and then book as 2 passenger PNR. Agent can book using original price if current price is now more.
