I don't have a dog in the NDA flight anymore, because my days of extensive business travel are past, and I very rarely book airfare through agents.
But if these changes impacted me personally, I'd be unhappy and bitter about it too. It's not surprising they'd be happy to see a person they view as responsible, removed.
I wouldn't shed tears either way. People at Vasu's level almost always bounce back and live another day to ruin a different company. Or retire to enjoy their windfalls.
