Well, yes, if money is no object, that could be done… The fare used would be calculated using AA fares for the leg flown, with same/more flexible conditions than the part flown BA fare, so the refund from the unused international, may not be much, if any.

It'd need four one-way bookings to be made, all ex-USA, such as BOS-JFK-LHR, and JFK-BOS-LHR. Possible, but might not be prudent.
