Flying commercial, it aint climbing Kilimanjaro. You have a short life, but if a lounge or airline "something" meets the definition of new, different, crazy experience; you have my most sincere condolences. I really mean that.
Being in an airplane is my happy place. Every time a plane rotates and takes flight, I get the feeling I had when I first saw an airplane as a kid. Flying is a privilege few people get to experience, and I enjoy it, despite all the poop that surrounds the experience today.
I flew a 6 segment TATL flight for 22 hours on the ground for my birthday last year. When flying alone, I'll add segments to experience metal I haven’t flown on or airports I've never been to. I'll take a multi stop propellor flight over a direct 'jet' flight if I can.
I’ve been to several dozen countries across 6 continents and to places where time forgot. For me, a trip starts when I step foot in the airport. It’ part of the total experience.
You see it as not experiencing life, I see it as maximizing one of the fantastic things that life offers to a selected few people and enhancing everything else in life.
Please save your condolences for someone who needs them.
