American will send the affidavit form. The court appointed executor of the estate or sole heir can direct the miles to whomever they choose. I simply sent the completed affidavit form and death certificate of my father to them and they transferred the miles. They did not require a copy of the will or letters testamentary.
this was my experience as well.. the affidavit is really just for AA to indemnify them in the case that another person comes forward. I didn’t have anything at the time that said that there was an official executor, will, miles to go to person A, etc.
