closing the loop on our EI MAN-DUB (AS award flight) last week:
  • aircraft was an Emerald Air ATR-72; I didn't see any point in EuroBiz on a mainline jet for a 1+10 block time (would have been ~2x the miles and half again as much in taxes/fees)
  • I completed online check-in on the EI website (mobile version) using the EI PNR from our AS booking
  • the system asked about checked bags under 20kg; I put two on my ticket and one on my wife's, but was not charged for them (wound up only checking the two rollers, as the duffel was only ~6kg and compressible enough to fit in the overhead)
  • the system automatically assigned seats (3DF), again without charging for them
