Could be same issue with direct debit, only the different twist that it doesn’t trigger the ticket issuance.
It’s not just the payment screen: the latest update on the MH site’s online booking engine (for round trip and one-ways) is resulting in serious slowdowns when loading the next page in the process (e.g., going from the page to put in passenger details to the ‘select additional services’ page). Firefox throws up a note asking if I want to stop the page due to this.

No idea on how to solve the question in the OP, but good luck in getting it resolved.
