Another post suggested that it's no longer necessary to register to use of the e-gates, completion of the online arrival form now being sufficient (at least for those holding passports of the starred countries in the list above). If that is correct, it would put Malaysia in the same league as Indonesia.
But what about the fingerprints? Malaysia seems obsessed by collecting bio-data.
No fingerprints the other day when I landed to KLIA (and found that the pre-registration on arrival has been recently removed). From memory there were no fingerprint scanners on the e-gate terminals - the immigration officer who I bumped in to was kind enough to walk me directly over to the gates (he understood exactly what I was asking for when I showed my MDAC print out and asked where registration was - he was the one that said it had been stopped)
I expect to be back in to KLIA next week or so, and plan to use my other passport (last week UK passport, want to add Oz passport)
