It really is one of the best short haul destinations I've ever been to. Stunning views, not too touristy, very affordable. I'm very keen to return and explore some of the other islands.

Azores Airlines has some really cheap fares from the US, starting at around £200 o/w. There are even direct flights from Bermuda. Now there's an idea, LHR-BDA-PDL...

Flying back via MAD courtesy of a good IB fare - £200 in J including the obligatory widebody on MAD-LHR. Only 4 of 8 J seats occupied and the IB service was exceptional.

I was on the same flight and also was very impressed with the BA Crew on this flight. Happy to be there, friendly and provided a great Service with plenty of smiles.
