Come along with me on my Nimmo Bay expedition. After craving this trip for years, I finally booked four nights July 18-22, 2024. I travel solo so the rate is utterly gasping yet I am confident of redemptive value. Focus is, obviously, the wilderness setting on the shore of a remote B.C. bay in the Great Bear Rainforest, forest immersion, waterfalls, glaciers, and, most especially orcas and whales, eagles and other birds. There may be bears as well.
Booking a day-long helicopter expedition to glacier picnic, ridge tops, forest meadow, etc. And, the Sea Safari in quest of orcas, whales, and pinnipeds. Pedantic note: orcas are dolphins as many probably know.
Last October I reveled in a trip to Tweedsmuir, also in B.C. but further north and east, near Bella Coola. Outstandingly successful trip with numerous grizzly and black bear sightings/experiences from a zodiac on the Atnarko River. Many, many eagles. My appetite for this sort of expedition was well and truly whetted! Next up — Nimmo Bay.

I’ll be posting about my journey here, including booking and pre-trip interactions, flights and transfers, arrival, stay, departure and wrap-up. Stay tuned if interested.
Photos not mine, mostly marketing fluff.
Booking, initiated today, is in process with Jenny via phone and email. So far, so good. Jenny is obliging, patient and enthusiastically helpful. I am all atwitter, babbling, and making notes. I am initially chastened by the double whammy for a solo guest but that’s not unexpected and I am committed. Waiting for the final quote. Still waffling on the helicopter excursion — but likely will cave. Every time I gasp, I remind myself it’s Canadian dollars.
