I've seen several posts about Doha but some are dated a while ago. I haven't flown with QA for years. I'm planning to travel from Baku to Edinburgh via Doha. The other option is via Istanbul but I believe QA is better than THY.
QA offers either a very long transit (around 9 hours) or, only on certain days, a 2h10 min transit. I'm not very keen on spending 9 hours in the airport so I'd like to opt for the 2 h layover.
1. My understanding from previous posts is that 2 hours is more than enough. However, flights from Baku are often delayed for various reasons. Is there a short connection lane in Doha if I need to rush to the second flight?
2. If for any reason I can't make, is QA helpful in terms of giving accommodation, meals or rerouting? My main concern is actually to be able to make it myself but luggage gets left behind.
3. I imagine I won't go through customs or passport control but I'll need to go through security. Is it possible to bring liquids without any limit? I've read in Doha they have the new 3D scanners?
