Questions about concur and Vegas casino hotel booking

So recently I ran into this issue. All my work travel is book via concur. I booked two nights at the MGM grand for work (Because it is dirt cheap when compared to other marriott hotel). My reservation did not show up in my app and the reservation did not have my account number. I end up added that during check in.

Last week, I submitted the missing nights along with my invoice. Marriott now told me since I book thru 3rd party it will not count.

Questions, is Concur considered as 3rd party booking? I always book via concur and it always show up on my account and I get my points.

Anyone ran into the same problem when booking casino hotel?
