Precisely. Even on day trips where I don't have a bag, I still board at GS call so that I can monitor Economy passengers that place their bags in First, and then flag to the FA. I don't consider this any different than an Economy passenger coming up mid-flight and taking a $20 from my wallet while I'm sleeping. I'm far from perfect, but I was taught not to steal.
