They give you clothes to change into, at least in F. The context is akin to a Ryokan (false analogy)? Even if I arrive n white tie and tails it won't matter, because that is not what I'm expected to wear during the stay/trip.
(I was about to say Downton Abbey but BA also gives you PJs to change into and I've eaten all my first First meals on BA in them...have I committed a faux pas?)
While turning up for a flight I try to change into a new shirt if I have any left but that's about it.
They will even offer you to change to the comfort wear before take off in F. I usually don't, as in a case of emergency evacuation I want to look classy going down the slide....
Well not quite, but I do want to wear propper fitting clothing and proper shoes and not slippers should there be a incident during take off. So I only change once the seat belt sign goes off. Similarly, I never take my shoes off before seat belt sign is off after take off, and put them on again before we get in to landing patterns.
