Review of my stay in May 2024

What is your IHG One Rewards status?
Diamond Royal Ambassador Inner Circle

Were you (or for multi-stayers are you generally) happy with the hotel/stay?
Yes, excellent stay.

Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
I booked cheapest rate and received One Bedroom Suite Balcony.
I wanted to use a Suite Upgrade Certificate for my stay. But for some reason this was not possible through IHG (presumably due to the hotel's recent integration into IHG). I then received a message from the hotel saying that I would be given a suite, and I also got a free airport pick-up.

How are the rooms?
Around 75 sqm large + 2 balconies

Very elegant interior design. High ceilings.
Separate living room with seating and dining area.

Bedroom with large and very comfortable bed.
USB sockets next to the bed. Induction charger
Desk

Television with large selection of international channels.
Chromecast
No Free PressReader

Large bathroom with bathtub, double sink and separate walk-in shower.
Karl Lagerfeld Agrumes et Vétiver toiletries.
Bathrobes

Kettle and Nespresso coffee machine.
Minibar

Pleasant balconies with table, chair.
View over the pedestrian street and partial sea view.

Very efficient air conditioning.

How is the exec. lounge?
N/A

What was good and what was bad?
GOOD
  • Very impressed by the quality of service: All the staff do their best to make your stay as pleasant as possible. This is all the more appreciable as the hotel has only recently opened and does not suffer from the soft opening problems sometimes seen at some properties.
  • Elegant interior design: it's great to see that the hotel has chosen a sober and elegant contemporary interior, far from the kitsch gilding that can sometimes be seen in the region
  • Kuwait City has many beaches, but few hotels face the sea. The hotel's location is clearly a plus for anyone looking for a relaxing yet urban stay.
  • Very good breakfast and surprisingly excellent restaurant: the products are fresh and deliciously prepared. A real treat
  • Private beach with sun loungers and shower. Rooftop pool with panoramic city and sea views. No wifi at present. A Greek restaurant is being set up on the roof. The pool facing the beach is reserved for the independent fitness centre, which is not part of the hotel (which creates confusion as there are no signs indicating this).
  • Pleasant pedestrian street with restaurants, cafes and delicatessen shops.
  • Only 20 minutes by cab from airport and 17 minutes to Kowait Towers.

BAD
Nothing

Value for $ or IHG One Rewards Points? Would you return?
Yes, very happy with the hotel. Definitely a very good property for quality of service, restaurant, by the sea location.
