I clarify with CX that I do need travel documents that satisfy my entry to TPE, hence I need a passport with me. Having said that, I ask if I can check to HKG only if I my connecting flight is the next day, he said I can't as it is a transit rather than a stopover, is that true? I recall many years ago I told the check in agent that I would only check through to HKG instead of the final destination, and there was no issue.
