I find that BA points tend to land on the day following the one you land. i.e., if you fly on Monday and land on Tuesday, then they'll land on Wed. This differs when you fly on Friday because you land Sat and Sunday seems a dead day, so they'll land on Monday. I tend to find BA post about 1am UK time - give or take an hour or so. As for other partners, well AA is very efficient, normally posting by the end of the day after you land. Other airlines vary quite a bit.
