For me options on a cancelled CUN-MIA and MIA flight were
3 nights extra stay in resort at no charge direct flight to LGW
Flight to PHL then standby for overbooked BA flight to LHR. Expecting lots of people to misconnect in PHL due to storm therefore opening seats.
If can’t get on PHL flight. Night in PHL airport, fly PHL-JFK following day then JFK-LHR.
En route to PHL cabin crew came up to me and advised they’d had a message I’d been confirmed on PHL flight someone would meet me at gate with. BP which happened.
10 mins after arrival in PHL call from duty office checking I’d got new BP. I wouldn’t worry about missed connects.
