No catering in J - compensation? [ticket bought on day of travel]
Following on from my thread yesterday, I flew on the inaugural flight yesterday from Izmir to Heathrow in J. Because I only booked my ticket that morning, when I got to the gate I was informed by a lovely staff member that there weren’t enough meals on board, and that myself and my fellow row 1 inhabitant, who also booked his ticket same day, would have to go without.
Cabin manager was lovely and did her best, but nothing but crisps and biscuits on a 4 hour flight wasn’t great. I’m sure I saw sandwiches being sold to the Y passengers, so wondering why we weren’t offered those.
Anyway, I’m wondering what I should reasonably expect in terms of compensation? A handful of avios would be welcome, is that about what I should anticipate receiving?
