avid hotel Wenatchee
What is your Priority Club status?
Diamond. No recognition - the manager came by to say hi during breakfast and asked us to leave a review on TripAdvisor, although I think this wasn't done because of my status.
Were you (or for multi-stayers are you generally) happy with the hotel/stay?
Yes
Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
Booked one 2 Queens with points and one Standard with cash, received two 2 Queens. Rooms were next to each other, on the top (4th) floor as requested, but quite close to elevator/main road in front of the hotel.
How are the rooms?
Room was probably on the slightly small side for US hotels (275 sqft / 25.5 sqm). The room had very minimum amenity - just a 55" TV (supposedly smart TV but we couldn't get AirPlay to work in one of the rooms), a minifridge, a safe, an iron/ironing board, and a few hangers on the wall. The hotel is very new (completed in 2023 IIRC) and the room was exceptionally clean. The bathroom was simple but spacious and clean, but the water pressure was quite weak in one of the rooms. The room had an unopenable window that's equipped with blackout curtain. My room was probably 50m from the main road in front of the hotel and the traffic noise was very audible (closing the curtain helped somewhat).
How is the exec. lounge?
NA
What was good and what was bad?
The good:
- Very new hotel and both the rooms and common area were exceptionally clean
- Friendly and professional staff
- Decent breakfast (for an avid/HIE property)
- Free EV charging (6 spots, only one was ever occupied during our stay)
- Free parking and lots of spots dedicated to Diamond elites (don't seem to be enforced and the parking lot was never full despite the hotel being full on our stay)
- Reasonable rates
The bad:
- The noise from the main road was quite annoying, and room location request was not honored
The ugly:
- Lacking basic amenity in-room such as water kettles or glasses/mugs, which were not even available at the front desk. Having to come to the lobby just to get some hot water in the middle of the night was not a fun experience.
- Wi-Fi is not encrypted
Value for $ or Priority Club Points? Would you return?
The point room and the cash room averaged to around $100/night, thanks to the 50x (!) points from Elite + Chase card + avid promo. Quite excellent value compared with other properties in the area. Will return if in the region as long as rate and hotel condition remain competitive.
