I've only had my status acknowledged onboard when sitting in economy after the FA goes to process payment for my snack box order. So, maybe 2 flights out of 16 this year?

It must be baked into the phone script because that's really the only place it's consistently acknowledged.

Then again, I don't really know how to respond when they do acknowledge my status. I take pity on most people who earn 1K (at least on segments) because it's usually a pretty miserable experience.
