Were you (or for multi-stayers are you generally) happy with the hotel/stay?
Yes. Hotel is currently renovating its lobby to move to the open lobby concept so there is some inconvenience but this is clearly noted on the app/website. I’m told that renovations should be complete in about 4 weeks.

Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
Booked King Standard. Received the same - although I was put in one of the newly refurbished rooms on the 3rd floor (bizarrely the hotel renovated the other floors a couple of years ago and never did the top floor - new rooms are very similar but include things like USB-C sockets). See picture.
How are the rooms?
Very nicely furnished. Kettle, TV with Freeview channels. Quiet and comfortable bed.

How is the exec. lounge?
N/A

What was good and what was bad?
I’ve stayed here a couple of times a year virtually since the hotel first opened (was originally a Holiday Inn Garden Court) and rarely received an upgrade. However, staff are generally really helpful. Excellent breakfast (now in newly refurbished restaurant). Currently, no real bar but that will be resolved when renovations are complete. Free parking and about 15 minute walk along the canal into the city centre.

Value for $ or IHG One Rewards Points? Would you return?
More expensive than I’ve paid in the past but still acceptable value. Have stayed many times before.
