The hotel has always been lovely and in an iconic location.Breakfast/upgrades has always been fair enough.
Though that can change as management and chefs may.
The issue for me has been poor soundproofing (they have been aware for many years but refuse to invest in a solution)
and as high a pricing as better area hotels
I like staying with Hyatt but also too Andaz WH has extremely firm mattresses.
Some love that but all subjective of course
If you can get past those items I see nothing wrong with the property depending on whats important
to you and the pricing agreeable
Long ago I stayed there when it was the Hyatt West Hollywood and it was a steal for the money.
Being younger at the time I was less sensitive to noise and the old tired beds comfortable but more plush at the time.
Now being older I would rather stay at the Hyatt Regency LAX which has a good bed and fair enough sound proofing.
Granted location not ideal
For years now and for the life of me I will never understand why Hyatt couldn't have gotten a proper hotel in
Beverly Hills,Santa Monica or Century City Westwood etc
While I was excited initially about the forever coming Park Hyatt Los Angeles property I doubt will ever warm up to that
location either.Downtown has never resonated with me and I've tried some nice hotels there.
Sad to lose the Hyatt Century Plaza to Fairmont & former Park Hyatt Century City an Intercon
before Covid killed them off.Miss both

I now stay at the Waldorf Astoria Bev Hills & La Peer WH but the experience is vastly superior in
every single way for what matters personally to me
WA being more expensive and the other LP Kimpton being less expensive if you use points.
