KIX may price out differently given UA only operates the one daily service there through SFO. Although I'm not seeing the cheap IAD-TYO fares through LAX at the moment, either, like I had been.
Although I want to fly to KIX sometime just to see the airport, honestly, Shinkansen from Tokyo seems the way to go to get to Osaka. Green car o/w fares are sub-$140 right now, cheaper if you book as a roundtrip.
