Just back from a 5 night stay booked on points. We had booked a standard room and no upgrade was showing on the app until about 24 hours before the stay. At that point our room changed to a King Premium Junior Suite and our rate changed from points to points + over 1500€! Not sure if this was because of full occupancy and Hilton were reimbursing at rack rate but I was assured at check it they saw the reservation as purely points!
Overall we really liked the hotel. If I had to pick faults the reception desk weren’t particularly engaging outside of check in and out. The lifts were also quite slow - 2 lifts for about 10 floors above and below ground.
But the room itself was really nice and breakfast was good (with a distinctive Croatian vibe). We enjoyed the hotel restaurant a couple of times in the evening and thought the food and cocktails were reasonably priced for the quality and quantity of food served.
The evening tasting was odd. Not advertised well or obvious, there were only 3 of us partaking in the event which was a small glass of local wine and a ham and mellon canapé. The other person tried - and failed - to get a second type of wine opened and so took it upon themselves to IMO rudely grab the original bottle from under the nose of the attendant and serve a second glass (to the attendants obvious and justifiable annoyance). Towards the end of the hour I politely asked with a smile if there was any chance of a second glass and they were happy to empty the bottle into our glasses. Karma!
