I've been using the same 'system' in China for 15+ years.

Once I get the exact location (say, from someone who sends me the location within WeChat, or a map display on a hotel's website, etc.), I 'duplicate' the location by looking/zooming in and out of the map, and save the location in whatever map software of my choosing; currently my favorite is SYGIC (previously Offline Maps).
I don't like any map software that relies on an internet connection, although I will briefly cross-reference with a Chinese map app, should I see the need to see traffic loads before departure.
