What I'm interested in is if anyone has the versions of these popular suitcases - adding in the Travelerpro Platinum Elite brand - and had experience with BA. And part of the problem may be the US model where bins are not used extensively as long as someone isn't trying to bring a sofa as a carryon and the model I've seen more often in Europe where every bag is checked for size. Thanks again for any information - and again, I'm quite cynical on their claim but always like to check against my own cynicism with real world experience.

I should add - the flight from EDI is an A319, which I haven't flown but imagine tends to be smaller overheads.
Many BA CE flights and I’ve never seen a bag sizer used. BAs approach is just to take away the bags from groups 4-9, an announcement I am sure you will hear at your LHR-EDI gate. In CE you’ll be fine
