Were you happy with the hotel/stay?
Okay.

Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
Day A: Booked Standard Room, received 2024 Renewal King Standard Room on Central Wing.
Day B: Booked 2024 Renewal King Grand, Received 2024 Renewal King Suite Corner Room on Tower Wing lower (Superior) floor.

This hotel have three buildings, Tower Wing (built 1973), Central wing, and West Wing (built 1965). This hotel’s standard (bottom category) room is located in the West Wing. Central wing is all Superior floor. The Tower wing has 4 different floor levels, Superior, Deluxe, Natural Comfort, and The Presidential Towers. The Presidential Towers is a Club level floor that is not subject to upgrade from any of the other categories floor booking as a general rule.

How are the rooms?
[2024 Renewal King Standard Room]
27SQM. Proper working desk, small table/chair set, 50inch Panasonic LCD TV, Panasonic Air purifiers, Nespresso, and Stocked mini-bar. Design is fully updated. But the bathroom is still in 90’s level.

[2024 Renewal King Suite Corner Room]
This room was the former Twin Grand Room. Several rooms have been re-categorized during the renovation.
All suites on the superior floor are studio suites.

There are 3 different room types but the room layout is similar.
King Grand 42sqm
King Suite 52sqm
King Suite Corner Room 56sqm

In-room equipments and amenities are completely same to the Renewal King Standard except the sofa set.

How is the exec. lounge?
Excellent food & beverage offering, especially beverages part is outstanding! However staff service is always reactive style, not proactive.

How was the mini-bar?
Some of soft drinks, hard liquor, wines and some snacks.
Not so attractive selections.

What was your welcome gift?
Just IHG One Rewards standard choice only.

Did you receive fruit in the room?
No

What was good and what was bad?

Good

Bad

Value for $ or One Rewards Points? Would you return?
Depends on the price.

Finally, we can see the result of the renovation, but the bathroom is simply say disappointing. Shower curtain is not acceptable in this 202x era. It seems that the standard of the guest rooms has finally reached just a level that is comparable to that of the ANA Crowne Plaza Osaka.
