I would invite you to visit the German-speaking countries of Europe then, where a large majority of the population still refuses to use card payments. And often I simply walk out the door if the merchant doesn't accept them (lol I carry 30-40 EUR in liquid cash, maximum)
I liked being able to leave my wallet at home in China. Took a little getting used to, but I adapted pretty quickly even if just taking a holiday.
And speaking of holidays, in Europe, the whole population also takes their holidays during the same period

. Like the thousands of kilometres of traffic jams during the peak summer and long-weekend holidays.
